Manchester Innovation Activities Hub (MIAH) is a cutting-edge industrialisation and electrification skills training centre based within Manchester Science Park to de-risk and accelerate the commercialisation of net zero innovations for the manufacturing, transport and renewable energy sectors, with a particular focus on hydrogen and battery technologies to support decarbonisation. MIAH provides access to industrial-grade fabrication equipment to innovative SMEs to prototype new products and services, help them to secure collaborative research and development projects to solve grand challenges, supported by world-class research and investor readiness support, in addition to rapid workforce upskilling, reskilling and new skilling to support scale up and growth. Opening in the Summer of 2024, we plan to work with local, national and international partners to develop the best talent and ideas for tackling climate change to boost investment and green jobs.
MIAH will act as a one-stop shop to build manufacturing capability, capacity and competitiveness, supporting the entire innovation chain from research, development and demonstration to commercialisation and deployment to deliver a de-fossilised future. MIAH is leading the supply chain and workforce development for the hydrogen value chain and Energy/Electrification, including specialist support to help companies repivot for emerging opportunities, best-in-class testing and validation services, and thought leadership in developing a diverse talent pipeline.
